Serve In Kids City
The Kid City team serves New City by investing in our kids so that they may be “..rooted & grounded in love, may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth & length & height & depth, & to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge”(Eph. 3:17-19). Our goal is to partner with the parents in our church to see Christ change the lives of our youngest New City family members. Our team members hold the honor of pouring into the lives of the children in Kid City by sharing gospel truths. We help build community among our children and help them see their place in the church. In addition to all of this, we have FUN. Following Jesus is a joy and we get to share that joy when we serve His children. Our ministry thrives when we see our team members building connections with the kids and showing them the love of Christ.
What Is It Like Serving With Kid City?
Serve The Least Of These
You will see the work of Christ in the young children of this church! You will see these kids grow and realize the goodness of Jesus and be one of the people teaching them the truth of the gospel. This will have an impact in your life as well when you see the faith of a child up close, hear Bible stories through their eyes, and realize the simple yet powerful story of the gospel.
You also have the opportunity to serve alongside others in the church and build connections with them as you’re serving the kids on a Sunday morning.

The Answers You Need
There are lots of different roles in Kid City! We have team members who help in our classrooms, teachers who are members at New City who lead the lesson, check in hosts who greet and check children in and out, and coordinators who help each Sunday morning run smoothly.
What are the different roles I can serve in on your team?
You will be asked to serve one Sunday a month during the service. We ask that you arrive at 8:15 for the 9AM service and at 10:30 for the 11AM service. We also have a training about once a year.
What are the requirements to join your team?
Our goal is to have team members serve once a month at most.
How often will I serve?
Kid city is birth through 2nd grade but we will work to place you in whatever class and age group you feel most comfortable with!
What age children will I be expected to work with?
Only if you are comfortable with it! We train our teachers to know how to best lead a lesson but there are other areas to serve and assist the teachers as well. We only have members of New City teach the lesson.
Will I be expected to teach a lesson?
Yes, you may serve as a team member, on any team before becoming a member of New City Church.

Background Check
Our children's safety is our top priority so that is why we do a background check on every single person who serves with children in our church. We will also have you sign an abuse prevention document.
Shadow A Team Member
After everything goes through we will get you scheduled with a team member to shadow on a Sunday morning for some additional training. Once that is complete we'll get you on the schedule.
