Saturating The Next Generation With The Gospel
NEXT City
What we're all about...
Our goal is to communicate to the kids of New City, ages 7-17, that they are valued members of God’s family and of New City Church at large - RIGHT NOW. (1Tim. 4:12) We will work faithfully to encourage and equip our children to walk with Jesus in helping to saturate their homes, church, neighborhoods, schools and city with the gospel. (Matt. 28:18-20, Matt. 19:14)
At New City we say, “The next generation is our responsibility.” They are the next generation. We may be New City but they are NEXT City!

Who will my kids become?
The gospel is exciting and relevant, so should our gospel teaching be. We won’t water it down, they can handle it! We will teach them about the REAL Jesus and how the REAL gospel addresses their REAL problems, fears and sins. We will talk openly about brokenness, sin, struggle and hurt and then we will point them to the hope and healing power of Jesus. We will trust the gospel and the Holy Spirit to empower our kids to do REAL ministry. We will teach them to engage with sermons and scripture, to share highs and lows with one another, to pray over each other and to boldly share the reason for the hope that they have with the world. And we’ll have a whole lot of FUN doing it!
We will partner with the other serve teams to find ways for our middle school and highschool kids to actually serve the church, from greeting, to setting up, to production, to playing music. They are not too young to start learning and serving!

What Will Your Children Become?
Gospel Rooted Kids
One of the sobering realities of parenting is that everything your children experience in this life will have an effect on who they become. We take that reality seriously at New City knowing that the experience they have at church will shape so much of how they relate to the church as they grow older.
Our hope is to see the work of Christ in our children! We believe children should be an active participant in the church. This is their church too! Our values for Kid City are to create a safe environment, teach the gospel, foster honoring friendships, show kids and families Jesus, lead kids to be on “mission”, and have fun being a kid.
FAQ
The Answers You Need
Currently we have 2 classes. The Dreamers room is ages birth to 2 years old. Our Heroes class is ages 3 years old to 2nd graders.
How many classes are there & what are the ages?
You can check in your child as soon as you arrive to church on Sunday morning. Our Dreamers room (birth to 2 years old) is ready to take your child as soon as you check them in. The Heroes (3 years old to 2nd grade) will get to participate in the songs at the beginning of the worship service and a team member will meet your child at the back of the worship area during the welcome time to bring them back.
When do I send my child back to Kid City?
Please let us know when you check them in! We will add it to their name tag and make sure all team members are aware for snack that day.
All our snacks are all peanut-free.
What if my child has an allergy?
We want you to feel safe and know that it is such a privilege to get to spend time with your child! All of our team members go through a background check and abuse prevention training. When you check your child in you will receive a security code that matches the code on your child’s name tag. We make sure your child is only allowed to leave with the coordinating security code.
How can I feel safe sending my child back?
A team member will text you using the number on your child’s name tag to let you know to come pick up your child to take them to the restroom. If for some reason we can’t get a hold of you, a team member will come find you in the service.
We ask that you bring the security tag with you when you pick them up during the middle of the service for safety reasons.
What if my child needs to use the restroom during Kid City?
If you forget the security tag when picking up a child, we will ask that you go get it before checking your child out. If it is lost, we will ask to see an ID to make sure your child is going to the correct person.
